Isidis nucleorum juglandis figura gratiose oblatum unicum specimen proxime exspecto, his visis mentem meam de istis Tecum communicabo.

Swedish.

history specimens, Hamburg.

, Juris Licentiatum, Holmiae enim pronunc neminem nosco, apud nominatos autem viros omnia pro me, sub involucro et Addresse ad me, deponenda erunt munuscula.

Dissertationes Upsalienses de Astaco, de Sceptro Carolino, de itinerum intra patriam necessitate etc. gratissimae mihi certe erunt.

D[omini] HeisteriHeister, Lorenz (1683-1758).
German. Anatomist and surgeon,
considered the father of German surgery.
Professor of anatomy and surgery in
1720, of theoretical medicine and botany
at Helmstädt in 1730. He rejected
Linnaeus’s sexual system. Correspondent
of Linnaeus.
scripta a me desiderata hic accipe, si plura s[ive] alia desiderabis, ad nutum jussus transmittam.

Catalogum omnium meorum scriptorum videbis in T. I et II Magnalium Dei[4] in locis subterraneis.

Tibi deditissimum.

upSUMMARY

Franciscus Ernst Brückmann has received a letter from Linnaeus dated 20 February. He has seen the “Florula Lapponica” so far, but not at all the Flora Lapponica, which it is not to be found in the booksellers’ shops. He asks Linnaeus to provide him with a copy. Brückmann will pay for it.

Brückmann wants Linnaeus to send some dried plants and seeds, Gale, Ulva etc., common in Sweden, when he gets an opportunity. Brückmann also wants plants and seeds from Lapland.

Brückmann has never seen the Muscus catharcticus Islandicus, nor the Muscus Lapponicus. He hopes to receive a specimen of Isis, which Linnaeus has offered, and having seen it, he will tell Linnaeus what he thinks of it.

Brückmann would be grateful to receive a collection of minerals from Sweden and Lapland. A box, big or small, could be sent to Münter in Lübeck or Johann Heinrich von Spreckelsen in Hamburg. For the moment he does not know anyone in Stockholm.

Once again he asks for the dissertations from Uppsala. He sends Lorenz Heister’s works which Linnaeus had asked for. If Linnaeus wants more Brückmann is willing to send it.

Linnaeus can find a catalogue of Brückmann’s works in T. I-II of Magnalia Dei.

Brückmann’s letter on some plants of the Hercynican forest, number 86 of the Epistolae itinerariae, is now being printed. It will soon arrive at Uppsala together with hundreds of other Epistolae itinerariae.
