upSUMMARY

Franciscus Ernst Brückmann asks Linnaeus to reply to his letter dated 4 May, where he also sent Lorenz Heister’s dissertations, which Linnaeus had asked for. In this letter he sends the first part (the remaining three parts are not yet printed) of the catalogue of the valuable library, the Numophylacium Burckhardianum, which Johann Heinrich Burckhard had built up during his lifetime at a great cost. Now the heirs sell it at an auction. Here Linnaeus can find many rare books. If Linnaeus or any of his colleagues want something from it they name the price and let Brückmann know, then he will buy it and send it to Uppsala when it is possible.

Brückmann is anxiously waiting for the plants offered and an answer to his letters.
