[this letter has not come down to us]. Here Linnaeus submits his corrections of a description of the history of the Uppsala University Botanical Garden. [The manuscript by Arrhenius, which Linnaeus had received for examination, was never published].

As to the new design of the garden, Carl HårlemanHårleman, Carl

], who gave his approval to the recommendation by the Consistorium of Uppsala University to turn to Hårleman, are mentioned.

Linnaeus also gives a depiction of the layout of the newly restored quarters of the Professor of Botany, with 13 rooms and, from one of them, a direct view to the garden so that he can watch what is going on.

One room houses the collection of natural history specimens, to which Carl GyllenborgGyllenborg, Carl (1679-1746).

made important contributions, such as snakes, lizards, frogs and other amphibians, together with artificial fruits from China.

Another gift is an iron gate to the garden, donated by Fredrik GyllenborgGyllenborg, Fredrik

He finishes the letter by mentioning that in the hothouse, the banana is now in flower, together with various succulents and other herbs.
