Min gunstige H[err] Praeses.

upSUMMARY

Linnaeus thanks Abraham BäckBäck, Abraham (1713-1795).
Swedish. Physician, president of the
Collegium Medicum, Stockholm. Close
friend of Linnaeus. Correspondent of

for his letter Bäck to Linnaeus, 9 October 1746Letter L0728 and for his friendship.

Linnaeus has enclosed a letter, which he asks Bäck to forward. Bäck should get the appropriate address from Edvard Carleson Carleson, Edvard (1704-1767).

, has decided to go if the Academy lets him. He is the best of Linnaeus’s pupils as a collector of both plants and insects.

Therefore Linnaeus suggests him.

1. If Wahlbom is accepted, Linnaeus wants Bäck to let him know when he [Wahlbom] should be in Gothenburg.

2. He should not be there too long in advance, for he has nothing to live off before the ship sails.

3. Linnaeus also wonders if the Academy can pay for his journey to Gothenburg.

4. Bäck must decide in such a way that Wahlbom does not have to change his plans at a very late stage, when he has already arranged for his belongings.

Linnaeus has not heard from Pehr ElviusElvius, Pehr (1710-1749).
