Accepi binas epistolas Tuas 26 Augusti et 11 Octobris ad me datas, gratissimaeque utraeque.[1] Iisdem nihil mihi optatius, nihil jucundius. Verba mihi deficiunt, quibus explicem, quantum Tibi, Vir amantissime, hac de caussa debeam. Hebdomade proxima exspecta responsum meum. In praesentiarum aliquantum occupatus & impeditus rebus publicis. Mitto interea hic adjunctas duas dissertationes[2] , quas ex commentariis Instituti Bononiensis describere curavi.[3] Latine prodeunt. Utinam et Acta Academicae vestrae, quae tantum boni continent & pro vestris & etiam pro nobis & patria, et Latina lingua imprimerentur![4] Proxime addam dissertationem de Malo Punica.[5] Tabulas dedita opera Bononia mihi mitti curavi, ut oculis Tuis melius subjiceretur, de quo in ipsa dissertatione agitur. Reliqua, quae ex iisdem commentariis scire desiderasti, breviter explanabo. Vale meque amare perge festinanter!

upSUMMARY

Joseph von Rathgeb has received Linnaeusís letters of 26 August 1748 o.s., 6 September 1748 n.s., and 11 October 1748 o.s., 22 October 1748 n.s.

He sends two dissertations that are transcribed from the De Bononiensi scientiarum et artium instituto atque academia commentarii.

He wishes that the Acts of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences were written in Latin.

He will soon send De Malo Punica.
