Dated Calend decembr. Ao ??CXLIX. Sent from Berlin (Germany) to Uppsala (Sweden). Written in Latin.

upSUMMARY

Michael Matthias LudolffLudolff, Michael Matthias
(1705-1756). German. Professor of
botany and medicine, Berlin.
Correspondent of Linnaeus.
sends Linnaeus a catalogue of plants including the necessary general pharmacological information. It had been published some time earlier [Ludolff refers to his Catalogus plantarumLudolff, Michael Matthias

collegio medico-chirurgico publice
habentur [...] occasione heic Berolini
[...] demonstratarum
(Berlin 1746).
], and Ludolff is aware that he is late in sending it to Linnaeus. The cause is not that he would consider that Linnaeus is not worth better, since Linnaeus should have received it before several others, but that an earlier opportunity to send it with a Russian, who would pass Riga on his way back to Russia, seems to have failed ignominiously.

Ludolff wants Linnaeus to know this.
