Jag har fått från alla orter åtskilligt nytt. jag tors intet wähl öfwersända brefwen at communicera dem med K[iäre] Bror, ty han torde wisa dem åt folk, som giöra där af ondt. de närwarande äro altid förtrognare än de frånwarande. I dag sänder jag Hassel- quist bref till Salvius; Osbecks skall komma därnäst, det är ej sämbre.

Linnaeus has got a lot of new information from different places, but he does not dare to send Abraham BäckBäck, Abraham (1713-1795).

the letters and let him see them, for Bäck may happen to show them to people who misuse them. It is always better to discuss such things personally when you meet.

Linnaeus is sending Fredrik Hasselquist’sHasselquist, Fredrik
(1722-1752). Swedish. Physician and
naturalist, explorer. Studied under
Linnaeus and Lars Roberg 1741-1749. Went
to Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Cyprus,
Rhodes and the island of Chios. Died
near Smyrna. Son of Magnus and Helena
Maria Hasselquist, brother of Andreas
Hasselquist. Correspondent of Linnaeus.
