Höglärde och Gunstige Herre.

Det war ett hufwud grep af Hielp at H[err] Montpertuis blef insatt; jag fant honom intet i acterne; han lärer blifwit antagen, då inga protocoller woro. jag hade ej welat at han warit utesluten för alt i werlden. tack som en hedersman för hielpen, så i detta som annat måhl.

Det är fatalt med lärda pedanter som skola skrifwa latin, äfwen som dieknar då de först skola potsa uht sig; alt går på sluts contrairt.

jag begynner blifwa frisk, men tohl ej det minsta; jag war här om dagen ute i wädret, och måste hafwa ondt af det hela 3 dagarne. jag wille till stockholm, men jag är rädd om lifwet, wet ej, hwad jag skall giöra.

has now been added to the list of members of the Academy. The record from the occasion when he was elected [Maupertuis was elected in 1747] is evidently missing.

It is fatal when learned pedants writing Latin try to show off in subjects they do not master.

Linnaeusís health is improving but he is very weak. He went outside one day and then had to suffer three days for it. He would like to go to Stockholm but fears that it would be too risky.
