It is now many years since Christobal VelezVelez, Christobal (?-1753).

Correspondent of Linnaeus.
and Linnaeus exchanged letters [these letters have not come down to us]. Velez has not been able to write because he has had problems. Velez is full of admiration for Pehr LöflingLöfling, Pehr (1729-1756).
Swedish. Botanist and explorer. Studied
under Linnaeus. Went to Spain in 1751
and took part in the Spanish expedition
to Venezuela in 1754, where he died.

. Velez has seen Linnaeusís letter to Löfling dated Uppsala 16 December 1751 o.s., 27 December 1751 n.s.Letter L1349, which was an answer to another letter by Löfling [Löfling to Linnaeus, 1 November 1751Letter L1341], where he informed Linnaeus about Spain.

Velez praises Linnaeusís works. He has heard from Antonio de UlloaUlloa, Antonio (1716-1795).
