Correspondent of Linnaeus. has been staying in Visby for a couple of days, but tomorrow he will leave and go up north. There are nice people in town, especially the Provincial Governor Jakob Olof HökerstedtHökerstedt, Jakob Olofsson
(16861757). Swedish. Provincial
governor to Gotland. , who has told the clerks in town that they should assist Bergius in anything he needs. Bergius has collected seeds and herbs for Linnaeus e.g., Lepidium foliis pinnatis, Chaerophyllum 2:dum; Melica ciliata; a few orchids etc. and Anthericum 269 growing only a short distance from the town. He has not been able to find Hyoseris. He found a kind of avena on the church of St. Clemens, and gives a thorough description of that, referring to the Flora SvecicaLinnaeus, Carl Flora Svecica,

Soulsby no. 408. . Bergius has also found some corals close to Visby and has collected a small amount of local plantnames. More will show from Bergiusís diary, which he will give to Linnaeus when he returns.
