Wälborne Herr Archiater.

För kort sedan hade jag den ähran att upwakta Herr Archiatern under Gref Hen[ning] Gyllenborgs Couvert som jag hoppas är tilhanda kommit. Nu har ändteligen Pr[ofessor] Gleditsch prässat ut detta brefwet. den inneliggande Catalogen är på de swänske örter som han åstundar, hwilken Herr Arch[iater] är så god och gifwer til unga Solander, som lofwadt att tjena mig med deras samlande. Hwad Herr Arch[iater] derwid kan bispringa honom, hoppas jag H[err] Arch[iatern] är gunstig och gör. Här har warit tämmelig winter, och är ännu kalt, så at jag har ingen ting uti Hist[oria] Naturali. Hos Professor Gleditsch har jag sedt både Kläden och åtskilliga slagz tyger, samt strumpor, förfärdigade af Eriophorum eller wår Harull, hwartil han lägger hälften eller 2/3 delar grof och lång ull, det blir wärkeligen rätt wackert, och om H[errn] behagar skall jag skaffa mera prof på desse tyger. Hwarthän jag efter Påsk kommer att resa, kan jag ej weta förr än jag får bref ifrån Arch[iater] Baeck. Förlåt att jag incommoderar Herr Arch[iatern] med det inneliggande brefwet. P. S. H[err] Doctor Balk och H[err] Ribe bedja mycket hälsa. Quaestio? om den som har promoverat förut till Philosophiae Magister och Disputerat, kan promoveras til Med[icinae] Doctor i Upsala, då som alenast undergår Examina medica och Disputerar en gång pro Gradu Doctoris. War gunstig och hälsa Kähler, huru går det med hans resa. Mylius har i dessa dagar rest härifrån.

has just produced a list of the Swedish plants that he would like to receive specimens of. Wahlbom encloses the list and suggests that Linnaeus leaves it to Daniel SolanderSolander, Daniel (1733-1782).

, who has promised Wahlbom to help to collect the plants. If Solander needs some help, Wahlbom hopes Linnaeus will arrange it. The winter in Berlin has been hard, so Wahlbom cannot do anything in natural history. With Gleditsch, Wahlbom has seen cloth and socks made from Eriophorum mixed with half as much of ordinary wool. The result is good, and if Linnaeus wants Wahlbom can get samples. Wahlbom does not know where he will go after Easter. He expects a letter from Bäck over that.
