Innelychte bref har jag i dag fått från D[octo]r Gronovius, och som det angår en dehl af hwad kommer till M[in] K[iäre] Broder, så föllier det innelycht; men [jag] beder at få det igen antingen nästa postdag äller till i dag 8 dagar, at jag må det beswara, och att M[in] Br[or] det ej förlägger.

Skulle M[in] Br[or] täckas wisa det för Hans Excell[ence] Tessin, så woro det wähl, som torde willia tillhandla sig något af det prächtiga Museo Portziano, af hwilkets tryckta catalogue jag i dag fått första arket; det är äfter min methode.

Nytt är at H[err] secret[er] Wargentin warit i Upsala och önskat alla mathematicis nyåhr intil Mad[am] Elwia; jag hade önskat sedt honom.

Nytt ifrån Edert hof är at secret[er] Dahlin, Berch, Hermansson, Bentzelstierna blif[wi]t Cancellie råder. men M[in] Br[or] täckes hålla detta tyst, ty hwarken M[in] Br[or] äller jag kunna någonsin blifwa samma.

(1690-1762). Dutch. Naturalist, senator
of Leiden. Linnaeus’s benefactor and
friend. Published Flora Virginica
(1743, 1762) together with John Clayton.
Correspondent of Linnaeus.
[18 December 1753Letter L1682], which he has just received. Some of it concerns Abraham BäckBäck, Abraham (1713-1795).
Swedish. Physician, president of the
Collegium Medicum, Stockholm. Close
friend of Linnaeus. Correspondent of
Linnaeus.
. However, Linnaeus wants it back either at once or within a week, for he has to answer it, and Bäck must not mislay it.

Linnaeus recommends Bäck to show the letter also to Carl Gustaf TessinTessin, Carl Gustaf
(1695-1770). Swedish. Count, important
politician and patron of science and
art. He supported Swedish artists and
scientists and collected art, books and
natural history objects. He assisted
Linnaeus’s career in many ways. Married
to Lovisa Ulrica Tessin. Uncle to
Fredrik Sparre. Correspondent of
Linnaeus.
, who could like to acquire some of the “Museo Portziano” [ Linnaeus refers presumably to the collection of the Dutch Colonel PorstPorst, Dutch. Colonel. ]. The first sheet of its catalogue has just reached Linnaeus, and it is arranged after Linnaeus’s method.
