Dated 1755 d. 13 junii.. Sent from Uppsala (Sweden) to Stockholm (Sweden). Written in Latin.

Viro Optimo,
D[omino] D[octori] ABR[AHAM] BAECK,
S[alutem] pl[urimam] d[icit]
Car[olus] Linnaeus.

Socra, uxoris fratres, soror, sororis maritus et quem primo nominarem D[ominus] Archiater Baeck promisere dudum se accessuros in proximam promotionem; hos omnes hospites exoptatissimos pervigiles exspectavimus a d[ie] 10 junii.

Accepi a D[omi]no Momma Museum cum tabulis prolusoriis.

Vale et fave!

Dab[am] Upsal[iae] 1755 d[ie] 13 junii.

Archiatren
Wälborne H[err] Doctor BAECK
Stockholm.

(1716-1806). Swedish. Linnaeusís wife.
Daughter of Johan Moraeus and Elisabet
Hansdotter Moraea. Mother of Carl
Linnaeus the Younger and of Elisabeth
Christina, Louisa, Sara Christina and

] preparations are in vain, and Linnaeus fears that there will not be very many friends left.

Linnaeus wonders why Bäck mentions the Court [presumably in a letter, which has not come down to us], for there is a rumour that that has gone to Falun and Dalecarlia. Linnaeus expects Bäck to come, not the Court.

Linnaeus would go and meet Bäck if he was sure that Bäck would come on Thursday, but since he is not, he will take nothing for certain until he really sees Bäck.
