Tack för H[err] M[agisterns] wackra tahl; jag har läsit det med mycket nöje, för uträkningarnas skull.

Jag ser där af att i hafwa i Lund Hwit Prustrot; han wäxte tillförene häftigt här i upsala trägård wild; jag har satt henne 6 åhr å slag, hon har wuxit upp och dödt uht, at det aldeles warit fatalt. Om något tilfälle gifwes så skiänk mig en lefwande rot; at jag en gång kan få annat än det högwichtigaste, så länge de är oafgiort.

], which Linnaeus has studied with much pleasure because of the calculations it contains.

Linnaeus saw there that white hellebore grows in Lund. It used to grow very well wild in the Uppsala University Botanical GardenLinnéträdgården,

Rudbeck the Elder in 1655.
as well, and Linnaeus had planted it during six consecutive years, but it always died. Linnaeus asks Lidbeck to send him a living root, if he can find an opportunity to send it.

Linnaeus can understand that the Swedish Parliament [Sveriges riksdag] does not have time for anything except the most important issues.

Linnaeus asks for news on the professorship in poetry at the University of Lund.
