had heard of Linnaeusís great interest and willingness to accept and receive everything that belonged to botany. He had also been a friend and pupil of Pehr LöflingLöfling, Pehr (1729-1756).
Swedish. Botanist and explorer. Studied
under Linnaeus. Went to Spain in 1751
and took part in the Spanish expedition
to Venezuela in 1754, where he died.

Barnades uses this opportunity to send Linnaeus a number of seeds and a list of the species to which they belong, so that Linnaeus can plant them according to their needs and see them germinate in due course. Barnades promises to send more, if Linnaeus will continue the exchange, and he will also send some new species and some that he is not sure of.
