Anmäla min underdånigsta ock odödeliga wördnad hos Hennes Kongl[ige] M[ajeste]t; jag har wäntat att trycka, att se utgången; och hälst önskat passa till riksdagens slut. Men jag will straxt begynna. i dag skrifwer jag till Boktryckaren; och med första som reser genom staden, sänder till stockholm. jag har nu alt renskrifwit. beskrifningarne på diuren hafwa tagit mig någon tid: i dag 8 dagar till hoppas jag wärket skall wara begynt, då jag det notificera skall, att M[in] Br[oder] kan det i underdånighet raportera.

Periit Hortulanus meus; reliquit stultam uxorem, et filium valde juvenem 10 annorum, aere aliaeno infectum. ubi nunc Hortulanum reperiam?

Habui immensam copiam pulcherrimorum imaginum plantarum ad Plumierianas spectantium, quos vellem possideres etiam in tua Bibliotheca

Linnaeus has postponed printing Fredrik Hasselquist’sHasselquist, Fredrik
(1722-1752). Swedish. Physician and
naturalist, explorer. Studied under
Linnaeus and Lars Roberg 1741-1749. Went
to Egypt, Syria, Palestine, Cyprus,
Rhodes and the island of Chios. Died
near Smyrna. Son of Magnus and Helena
Maria Hasselquist, brother of Andreas
Hasselquist. Correspondent of Linnaeus.

], but now he has finished a clean copy to give to the printer, and he will send it with the next person who goes to Stockholm. Linnaeus hopes that the printing will be started within a week, and promises that Bäck will be informed in order to report it to the Queen.

] has died, leaving behind a feeble-minded widow and a ten year-old daughter, badly in debt. Linnaeus wonders where he can find a new gardener.

Linnaeus has received a lot of nice pictures of plants [enclosed with a letter from Johannes BurmanBurman, Johannes (1707-1779).
