This edition has been made short in order to enable the students to buy it.

Linnaeus claims that his intention with the book has been to raise a sepulchred tablet for the last resting-place for "a man who in the darkness saw the nature while His Lordship Tessin played for the cost of oil for the lamp".

Linnaeus praises and thanks Tessin for his support and generosity.
