Wälborne Herr Archiater och Riddare.

Af inneslutne bref ifrån Lyon, synes, så wäl den ortens, som Europae allmänna trängtan, att Herr Archiatren och Riddaren wille lägga handen wid ett arbete, som ingen annan mägtar med lika insickt fullborda. Jag sänder därhos Brussets bref till mig, som jag tienligast beder, att, jemte Herr Archiaterns swar, återfå.

En ständig och dryg hufwudwärck, som påminner mig mitt surge, et vade; hindrar mig att skrifwa långa bref; men med egen, ehuru matt hand, har jag welat förnya min upriktiga försäkran om den högacktning, med hwilcken jag städse framhärdar.

Linnaeusís career in many ways. Married
to Lovisa Ulrica Tessin. Uncle to
Fredrik Sparre. Correspondent of
Linnaeus.
writes to Linnaeus and encloses a letter from Lyon asking Linnaeus to complete a work [a dictionary of natural history] that nobody else is able to complete [this intended work by Linnaeus was never published]. Tessin also encloses a letter from Jean-Marie BruysetBruyset, Jean-Marie
(1719-1792). French. Bookseller in
Lyon. Correspondent of Linnaeus.
to Tessin [see Bruyset to Linnaeus, 17 July 1758Letter L2380 and Linnaeus to Bruyset, 30 september 1758Letter L2463 and Bruyset to Linnaeus, 29 April 1760Letter L2703] and he kindly asks Linnaeus to answer the letter and send both the answer and Bruysetís original letter back to Tessin.

A constant headache prevents Tessin from writing long letters.
