De Kongl[ige] hafwa warit här och wist sig rätt nögde och nådige. jag har under mitt Rectorat blefwit hedrad med många giäster; saknar ingen mer än min K[iäre] Broder.

jag har fått Profess[or] Acrells Bok, som är rätt wacker och sincer; nu är quaestionen om han skall blifwa Doctor.

På ena sidan är det wist att han meriterade och att det kunne med alt skiähl honom offereras.

På andra sidan blifwer quaestio om det är ratione status.

Min K[iäre] Brors rena utlåtande beder jag mig få med första inhämta; som det är en angelägen quaestion

], have been in Uppsala and have been contented with what they have seen. Linnaeus has had many honourable guests during his period as Vice-Chancellor, but Linnaeus regrets that Bäck has not been one of them.

] has been published and delivered to Linnaeus. It is a nice book, but Linnaeus is not sure if it is enough to make him a doctor of medicine. He would deserve it, but Linnaeus is not sure if it is politically acceptable.

Linnaeus asks Bäck to give him his opinion, and rather urgently at that, since it is an urgent matter.
