has thought a lot about Anton von Stoerck’sStoerck, Anton von (1731-1803).
Austrian. Physician in ordinary to
Maria Theresia of Austria.
“Cicuta” [Libellus, quo demonstratur: CicutamStoerck, Anton von Libellus,
quo demonstratur:Cicutam non solum usu
interno tutissime exhiberi, sed et esse
simul remedium volde utile in multis
morbis, qui hucusque curatu impossibiles
dicebantur
(Wien, 1760)
]. He has used Conium for several months in 4 or 5 patients without any effects whatsoever. He has also tried Cicuta aquatica/virosa in one or two without effect. He is of the opinion that it is not as dangerous as believed. He is now trying Aethusa in one patient in increasing doses, so far without result. Bergius believes that von Stoerck uses Cherophyllum temulum.
