Linnaeus has got a report from his financial agent and sees that his debt to Daniel TilasTilas, Daniel (1712-1772).

for the work that Tilas did on Linnaeusís coat of arms has not been settled. Linnaeus apologizes for this delay.

Linnaeus encloses a banknote which he humbly asks Tilas to receive, although it does not correspond to what Tilas has done.

The letter is signed Carl von Linné, i.e. the name Linnaeus adopted after his ennoblement.
