Chancellor of the Uppsala University
1760-1764. Correspondent of Linnaeus. thanks Linnaeus for his letter of 20 January 1763 [this letter has not come down to us]. Höpken writes that those who think he will retire from the Chancellorship and not travel to Uppsala are only half right. He intends to arrive soon after Epiphany when he will tell Linnaeus that the attitudes of the period, more than his own standpoint, have convinced him that he has become of no use to the Uppsala University. However, he asks Linnaeus to deeply thank Peter JulinskiöldJulinskiöld, Peter
