to thank him for his letter [presumably Blom to Linnaeus, 30 June 1762Letter L5401]. He is happy to learn that Blom is still interested in insects.

Linnaeus writes that the Musca Blom sent him is his Musca ungulata. Linnaeus means that it is only the female that has the strange mark in her caudal part that other species do not have.
