is very pleased to have received approval from Linnaeus [this letter has not come down to us] for his fascicles [Baster refers to the fascicles of the Opuscula subsecivaBaster, Job Opuscula

Baster and his friends miss the eleventh edition of Systema naturae [the Systema naturae, 11th editionLinnaeus, Carl Systema
naturae

1762). Soulsby no. 61.
is non-existing].

Baster has not dared to include a specimen of Tellina in the letter but sends a short description with references to publications. He is ready to send a specimen by sea if Linnaeus is anxious to have it.

Baster is ready to send Linnaeus any other natural specimen from his region, and he will not save any effort to find specimens.
