Wälborne H[err] Archiater.

Af Consulen Balguier i Amsterdam, har jag haft bref med innelychte connossement, som innehåller 2ne chinesiska Phasaner, hwilka äro helt rara och aldeles skilde från andra Phasaner, och aldrig warit sedde här i riket; är en han en hona laga att så snart skeppet kommer det desse Foglar, som jag är committerad att i hans namn underdånigst presentera till Hennes K[onglig] M[ajestä]t, blifwa straxt lefwererade och af skeppet uptagne. H[err] Balguier will sielf betala frachten, om skepparen kan lefwerera dem lefwande och får mitt attestatum där öfwer.

H[err] Balguerie önskade wetta, om de saker, som han för ut sändt åtskilliga gånger till Hans Kongl[ig] M[ajestä]t, richtigt framkommit äller af någon undanhållits. Hans cataloge medföllier.

H[err] Archiatren, som har dageligen den lyckan att få wisa sig för Majesteternes ej nådiga ögon, torde wid tillfälle där om i underdånighet lysna, och gifwa mig det wid handen att jag får swara honom.

in Amsterdam, Linnaeus has received the enclosed bill of lading concerning two Chinese pheasants, very rare birds, not previously seen in Sweden. They are one cock and one hen. Linnaeus is asked to present them in Balguerie’s name to the Queen [Lovisa Ulrika Lovisa Ulrika, (1720-1782).

should arrange for them to be collected from the ship as soon as it arrives. Balguerie will pay for the transport, if he is informed by Linnaeus that the master of the ship has delivered them alive.

Balguerie also wants to know if his earlier shipments to the King [Adolf FredrikAdolf Fredrik, (1710-1771).

] have arrived in good order or if anything has been embezzled. Linnaeus encloses the list that Balguerie has sent him.

Linnaeus asks Bäck to ask the King about these shipments, when there is an opportunity during Bäck’s frequent visits to the Court. If Bäck tells Linnaeus, Linnaeus will know what to answer Balguerie.
