(1730-1790). Swedish. Physician and
botanist. Professor of natural history
and pharmacy at Collegium Medicum,
Stockholm. Linnaeus’s student.
Correspondent of Linnaeus.
for the Ericas.

He is well acquainted with E. fastigiata</>, imbricata, albens, melanthera, pubescens. He makes some other observations as well.

E. Bergiana, and E. lutea were entirely new to Linnaeus.

Linnaeus does not know E. divaricata.

When Linnaeus gets to his country Museum he will fetch Bergiam and have a sketch made.

Linnaeus now is the owner of 59 Ericas.

Linnaeus shall try to help Antoine GouanGouan, Antoine (1733-1821).

under Sauvages. Director of the
botanical garden in 1767, later
professor of botany and medicine.
Although an admirer of Linnaeus he tried
to develop a hybrid of his system of
classification. Correspondent of

P.S.There were two Blaeriae in the Bergius’s batch, Linaneus will have a look att them too.
