Mig är berättat att då Hans M[ajeste]t hedrade Academien med sin höga närwarelse, det H[err] Grill ingifwit en observation om chinesernes sätt att producera pärlor. war gunstig och lätt mig få se detta.

H[err] Solanders moder, som ej fått mer än 3 bref af sin son, all den tid sedan han kom till Engeland, men intet sedan han hemkom från denna sin stora expedition, beklagar sig och nu öfwersändt bref till honom, det jag öfwerskickat.

P.S. Linnaeus was surprised to have learnt that when Uppsala had minus 33 degrees, it had been only 22 in Stockholm.
