Cum iteratis vicibus viderim semina nostrarum Alpium tibi non ingrata extitisse, quaedam selecta atque super Alpes proxime elapsa aestate collecta ad te mitto cupiens quam maxime, ut eorum saltem quaedam aliquam apud te ineant gratiam. Paro nunc, quam primum edendum in 5° miscellaneorum Taurinensium tomo, auctarium ad synopsim methodicam stirpium H[orti] R[egii] T[aurinensis], quod continebit eas omnes quae ab anno 1762 additae sunt stirpes. Curabo, ut habeas, imo precabor, ut benevole excipias, atque, si quaedam aderunt stirpes a te desideratae, ex eo auctario commode poteris indicare. Optimi Bassii Bononiensis valetudo infirmata est; mense Septembri apoplexia correptus est, quae paralysim dextro brachio intulerat, nunc quidem melius se habet manus usu, licet non adhuc satis firme restituto, ita tamen, ut et literas dare possit.

Si quaedam exotica rariora semina literis inclusa mittere velles, Vir Celeberrime, ad hortum nostrum locupletandum, rem faceres gratissimam. Me tuae benevolentiae commendo, atque te deprecor, ut me semper habere velis tui nominis cultorem humillimum.

sends Linnaeus some seeds of Alpine plants, since Linnaeus had been pleased to receive such earlier. He hopes that they will be welcome. Allioni is preparing an addition to the former list of the plants in the garden at Turin, to be published in part 5 of the Mélanges de philosophie et de mathématique de la Société Royale de Turin, entitled, “Auctarium ad synopsis methodicam stirpium Horti Reg. . He will arrange that Linnaeus receives a copy. Linnaeus is welcome to ask for seeds from that list. Allioni reports that Ferdinando BassiBassi, Ferdinando
(c.1710-1774). Italian. Director of the
botanical garden of Bologna.

in Bologna has been hit by stroke but that he is recovering. He can not yet work, however.

If Linnaeus would send him seeds of exotic, rare plants Allioni would be much grateful.
