upSUMMARY

Johann Friedrich BauderBauder, Johann Friedrich
(1713-1791). German. Wine-merchant and
palaeontologist. Correspondent of
Linnaeus.
follows the example of several amateurs of natural history and feels obliged to communicate his discoveries to Linnaeus, since he has heard that Linnaeus is very interested in collecting specimens from nature.

In Bauderís case, it is marble with fossils that forms the object of interest. He has found very interesting specimens in his region and has published a short treatise on the matter [Relation des fossiles découvertsBauder, Johann Friedrich
