Dated 1773, d. 21. April.. Sent from Uppsala (Sweden) to Ňbo (Finland). Written in Swedish.

Gud giöre M[in] H[err] Br[oder]s dagar långa och sälle.

to tell him that, after waiting a fortnight for Isaac UddmanUddman, Isaac (1731-1781).
Swedish. Doctor of Medicine. Medical
practitioner in Uppsala.
, he has now met the man, who declines Mennanderís offer as he thinks he can make a fortune in the countryside around Uppsala. Linnaeus writes that he has received Mennanderís letter of April 8th [this letter has not come down to us] and that he will do his utmost to meet with Mennanderís request. If EnanderEnander, Swedish. would visit Linnaeus, there would be some hope of gaining votes for Mennander, although he is quite unknown among the colleagues at the university.

Linnaeus writes that he assumes that Mennander has noted that Linnaeus has been currying favour with the secretary as he has heard about Mennanderís recommendation
