to thank him for his letter [ this letter has not come down to us] and for recommending him in Stockholm. Linnaeus writes that he had wished that he had been able to do this voluntarily together with his colleague [Linnaeus presumably refers to Nils Rosén von RosensteinRosén von Rosenstein, Nils
(1706-1773). Swedish. Physician

], but his colleague has been ill in dysentery and he is still suffering from pain in his chest. Linnaeus confirms that they will do their utmost in this matter and asks Dalberg to inform the King [Gustav IIIGustav III, (1746-1792).
