upSUMMARY

Carl RudenschöldRudenschöld, Carl
(1698-1783). Swedish. Count.
Politician, diplomat and author.
Councillor, chancellor of Uppsala
University.Correspondent of Linnaeus.
is glad that he has received a letter [this letter has not come down to us] from Linnaeus telling him that Linnaeus will come and see him in Stockholm in February and that Linnaeus has arranged it so, that his absence from Uppsala does not mean any inconvenience to the students. Linnaeus has used time that he could have used for rest to compensate the students for his absence. Rudenschöld hopes Linnaeusís health will last for many more years, so that as long as Rudenschöld is permitted to continue in his office as chancellor he will be able to consult Linnaeus in various matters about the university.
