] will return to Lisbon sometime during the spring. Bedoire would very much like to accompany him in order to visit Lisbon and some other places. The journey will be mostly by sea and his brother thinks that it is too expensive to have Bedoire as his companion. Another complication is that Bedoire suffers from sea sickness. Bedoire, however, hopes that he will be able to raise enough money to be able to realize the journey.

Bedoire asks Linnaeus to be so kind to write a letter of recommendation to his brother and hopes for a positive response.

Bedoire adds that he has improved his knowledge of herbs.
