. He knows that Linnaeus and Bassi had been in contact, and he would like to continue with it. He already practices Linnaeusís method, and is very eager to fulfil any requests that Linnaeus may make. So if Linnaeus intends to ask Bassi something, the request should now be put to Brunelli instead.

has come to Bologna, where he will stay for some days. Brunelli often sees him and they talk of Linnaeus, since Murray is one of Linnaeusís pupils.

If Brunelli needs something, he hopes that Linnaeus will be friendly and liberal towards Brunelliís gardens, just as he was when Bassi was alive.

P.S. Brunelli gives Linnaeus instructions on his address, and mentions the contact in Genua that would take care of mail meant for Brunelli.
