Tack för M[in] H[erres] oförändrade affection, hwar på jag senast hade dagelig confirmation.

Wij talte senast om H[err] De Geers myckna gunst i sitt senasta bref, uti hwilket han behagade så mycket flattera mig; äfter lofwen sänder jag det innelycht; beder att det ingom wisas, och att jag efter genomläsandet kunne få det tillbakas; ty jag will intet där med giöra mig grön.

Det är wist att ingen gifwet accuratare figurer på insecter, nämligen utan coleurer, än H[err] De Geer, dem han med egen hand aftecknat. är

Linnaeus reminds the Secretary about positive statements about himself in a letter from Charles De GeerDe Geer, Charles (1720-1778).

[De Geer to Linnaeus, 9 March 1775Letter L5092]. He sends the letter to the Secretary and asks him to return it once he has read it; Linnaeus asks the Secretary not show it to other people.

Nobody except De Geer presents accurate figures of insects, which he makes himself.
