Dated 1776 Januar 19. Sent from Uppsala (Sweden) to (). Written in Swedish.

Min Herre.

Min Herres
ödmiuke tienare
Carl Linné.

]. It would be best not to publish it until it has been completed, since it lacks information aboutfructus, if it is bacca or capsula, if it is unilocularis or trilocularis, if semina are solitaria or more. It is important that it be properly described in the Academy’s transactions. [In a letter from Thunberg, dated 1 February [1775], which has not come down to us], Thunberg writes that Hydnora bears fruit and that it is a monodelphist and not a cryptogamist. A note about this mistake was published in the Academy’s transactions of 1775 [p. 350], where it is a reference to the letter from Thunberg to Linnaeus, and where it is stated that Linnaeus will give a full description of it later on. This was never done, but in 1776 Linnaeus presided his last dissertation, Planta aphyteia [Hydnora]Linnaeus, Carl Planta

Linnaeus thanks for kind words and says that he might become conceited, if did he not know himself.
