As Linnaeus, like Rudenschöld, considers the King’s will as equal to an order, Linnaeus is very eager to fulfil it, and therefore Linnaeus will try to perform all the duties of his professorship, just as he has done for 35 years. In this way, he would deserve the continuing favour of the King.
