upSUMMARY

Linnaeus writes to the King and CouncilThe King and Council,
Swedish. Kungl. Maj:t.
that he has now lectured at Uppsala university since 1730 and from 1741 been professor there and that he now, having reached the age of 70, feels that he does no longer has the physical power to continue lecturing.

Linnaeus therefore suggests that his vicarious shall be appointed to hold the position. He would, however, wish to continue as inspector for the Uppsala University Botanical Garden [LinnéträdgårdenLinnéträdgården,

Should this request be granted Linnaeus hopes to be allowed the emeritus professor salary at Uppsala university which has become vacant after Nils Rosén von RosensteinísRosén von Rosenstein, Nils
